Meet Your Instructors:
Gabriel (he/him) is from Rio de Janeiro, and has deep connections to Zouk's roots having learned from and trained under one of its pioneers, Renata Peçanha, as part of her school's 3rd generation of students in Rio. Since 2017, he's been professionally teaching and sharing his love of dance with others. He began his journey with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, fell in love with and studied Tango at one of the best schools in Rio, and Brazilian Zouk ultimately captured his heart.
Verity (she/her) has been a lifelong dancer with a background in tap, ballet, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Salsa, Bachata, and Zouk. She fell in love, heart & soul, with Zouk in 2019, and since 2021 she's been dedicated to growing the Brazilian Zouk community in Iowa through organizing events and training. She loves to travel to train and compete. She hopes to introduce this deeply impactful art to as many people as possible across the Midwest and beyond.
